Case Study: Sheridan Memorial Hospital Rebrand

Client: Sheridan Memorial Hospital

Location: Plentywood, Montana

Project Type: Brand Messaging, Visual Identity, Collateral, Photography, Website Refresh

Opportunity

Sheridan Memorial Hospital approached Kinetic with a desire to modernize its brand and unify its messaging. While the hospital had a strong reputation for delivering exceptional rural healthcare, its visual identity was outdated and inconsistent. Departments often created their own materials, resulting in brand sprawl and a disjointed presentation across touch points. Internally, there was a desire to preserve the hospital’s legacy while better communicating its progressive care model, community commitment and regional leadership in rural medicine.

Action

Kinetic led a comprehensive rebranding initiative, beginning with strategic messaging. Through collaboration with hospital leadership, we developed a clear brand promise, unique value propositions and messaging tailored for patients, providers, donors and potential staff. This language reinforced Sheridan Memorial’s identity as the anchor of rural healthcare in Northeastern Montana, grounded and deeply invested in its community.

With the messaging approved, we overhauled the hospital’s visual identity. We introduced a modernized logo that paid homage to the original “S” mark while bringing clarity, professionalism and warmth to the design. A new color palette, typography system and brand elements were chosen to differentiate Sheridan Memorial from other regional hospitals while communicating trust.

To support rollout, we developed branded collateral including business cards, letterhead, email signatures and more. We also conducted a two-day photo shoot in Plentywood, capturing authentic images across all service lines — from emergency services to physical therapy to long-term care. These images provided a rich and relatable visual foundation for both internal and public-facing materials.

The final phase involved refreshing the hospital’s website. While a full rebuild wasn’t within scope, we strategically redesigned critical pages and applied the new brand across the site to create a cohesive, elevated user experience. In parallel, we began producing custom video content to support future campaigns and social storytelling.

Results

Though the new website is pending launch and quantitative data is not yet available, the rebrand has already provided Sheridan Memorial with a unified voice, a clear visual system and a modern brand that reflects the caliber of care they provide. The hospital is now equipped with a robust photo and messaging library to power recruitment, donor relations and public communication for years to come. Internally, teams now have the tools and structure to produce consistent, on-brand materials, bringing cohesion and professionalism to every touchpoint.

Sheridan Memorial is deeply rooted in the community and strives to provide the best services. We take pride in the fact we can offer multiple services which include state-of-the-art equipment that can provide more diagnostic care than any other facility in the region. We needed a brand to match that level of care and that is what Kinetic Marketing and Creative brought to us. Through an in-house brainstorming session, Kinetic listened to our staff speak of our medical services, our quality staff and our community. With fresh eyes, tuned ears and a great sense of our mission and priorities, they were able to pull those important messages out to create a brand that fully captured the essence of Sheridan Memorial. We are proud to roll out our new logo, new colors and new messaging. Our medical facility now has top-notch branding that echoes the care received here. – Connie Anderson, Foundation Executive Director
