So Much Work, So Much Fun in Creating Websites

We’ve said it before, and the more we create them, we’ll say it again and again.

We love building websites.

We have “gone live” with several websites for clients in the first quarter of 2018. The projects are extremely challenging but are among the most satisfying endeavors we undertake with our partners. The new site for EBMS is a prime example.

We get to learn so much about our clients’ businesses – their people, their products, their strategies – and work closely with them to bring their company persona to life in a new website. We had fun doing that for many companies, including Frontier Asset Management, a Sheridan, Wyo., firm.

Launching a new site is not just putting lipstick on a tired site. So many things go into it. If you are considering a redesign, please contact us to learn more about our process. In the meantime, here are a few questions we ask and items we stress when clients come to Kinetic for a website overhaul.

With the client, we’ll review their brand. Does it reflect the organization? Is it strong? Well positioned? Marketed effectively? Threatened?

Then we ask, “What are goals for the new site?” To inform? Inspire? Build business? All of the above? In discovery sessions with clients like Performance Engineering, we discuss these strategic questions. The answers help build a foundation for the project.

Keeping those goals in mind, we audit the current site.

  • Take inventory of content
  • Analyze SEO and metrics
  • Assess UX (user experience)
  • Study the competition

We’ll develop a timeline, a sitemap and wireframes and dive into creative concepts for each page. Functionality, special features and UX are critical issues for our design. Working with our client’s team, we develop content and the site design takes shape.

Account directors, project managers, designers, writers and programmers work with our clients to bring the site to life. “Go Live” days are exciting culminations of an amazing journey.

Here are some of sites we’ve been proud to work on in the past year, and a few others that earned Addy Awards. Check them out!
