Mikaela Wahl Social Media Manager
A captivating new social media platform called Threads, created by Meta, has caught the attention of millions in the ever-evolving realm of social media. It offers a refreshing twist on microblogging, combining elements from both Instagram and Twitter. Within less than a week of its launch, Threads amassed over 100 million users and the platform continues to grow as curiosity about these social threads intensifies. Here’s what you need to know about how the app will be incorporated into the world of organic and paid media for business advertising.
Threads at a Glance
As businesses prepare to establish their presence on the latest social media app, there are several important points to consider.
What are threads?
Threads are short, 500-character, text-based posts. Their aim is to connect, share and discuss passions with a vibrant community. Although these entries are primarily text-focused, you can also add media like videos and photos. From there, you’re encouraged to interact and join conversations that you’re interested in.
How do I access the platform?
Access to the platform is currently exclusive to users with an Instagram account. If you haven’t joined Instagram, you won’t be able to join Threads either. Also, Threads is only available on mobile devices as they have not yet released a desktop version.
Is there an opportunity for paid media?
As of July 2023, there are no advertising opportunities on the platform, but it is expected that paid media options will be introduced in the near future.
What does the future of Threads look like?
Overall, there are still a lot of bugs to be worked out on the platform. Meta has acknowledged these issues, and they are actively seeking user feedback to improve and expand the platform!
What are the best social media platforms for my business?
Choosing the right platform depends on your specific business goals. It’s essential to be present on platforms where your target audience typically hangs out. This could include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, and yes, Threads! By understanding your ideal client’s preferences and habits, you can make informed decisions about which platforms to prioritize for your business.
Should my company start posting on Threads?
If you have the chance to engage with your audience, we highly recommend starting to post content! It’s a low-risk action that could lead to significant rewards. By taking this step, you open the door to potential opportunities and better connections with your target audience. Don’t hesitate to begin posting and engaging with your audience to see positive results.
